Actor/Teacher/Creator Oliver Riera is in the house! I had an absolute blast in this episode with Oliver! What I enjoyed most about speaking with Oliver was his awareness of who he used to be, who he is now and the kind of person he strives to be. Oliver opened up in our conversation about how he used to be a very negative person who hated his life and that it wasn’t until he became so fed up with himself and his circumstances that he felt he had no option but to do a complete one-eighty.

It was Oliver’s ability to discuss his past with complete ease and freedom that I found most refreshing. He talked about how he used to be a “negative person” who didn’t like to be around anyone the way most people talk about a bad slice of pizza they had once. It wasn’t great but they’ll survive to eat another slice. No biggie.

It became clear over our conversation that Oliver is someone who has done a lot of work in changing his negative belief and patterns and is someone who strives to push his limits, support others along their journey and aims to make an impact in the world. Oliver is under no misperceptions that his work is done. He is now focused on seeing how many lives he can effect and wakes up excited to tackle the day and see what he can create.

In this episode, we discuss how after starting out as a musician then going to school to become an audio engineer he found his true passion of acting, why he doesn’t necessarily believe in big leaps but suggests instead getting a taste of what peaks your curiosity, and what his biggest personal challenge has been in his artist journey.

A little about Oliver:

Growing up, Oliver Riera has been in numerous bands. Going on tour, recording in studios, Oliver always felt like music is what he was meant to do. After his last band broke up, he still wanted to be a part of the music scene, so he enrolled at Full Sail University where he got his audio engineering degree. After having numerous jobs, he felt like there was something bigger for him to do. He took his first acting class after that. From then on, has been a professional actor for the last 4 years performing on stage, commercials, and film. Training at DSI Comedy Theatre for Improv and Moonlight Stage Company for vocal training, acting, and improv. He now teaches acting at Moonlight Stage Company, and also coaches and tapes actors for their auditions. They have gone on to get call backs and booked Major TV and Film roles such as  The Accountant (Ben Affleck), Disney Channel, Mercy StreetOutcastFist Fight (Ice Cube, Charlie Day, Tracey Morgan), Big Little Lies (Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz), and many more. He continues to work in the industry as an actor and teacher. He hopes to one day change the world with the knowledge he knows, all while being himself.
